Painting Large (for me)
I had this reference picture, but my normal size paintings just didn’t seem like the right fit. The subject matter just felt like it needed to be large.
Using Watercolor Studies to Prepare for Painting
For two recent paintings: Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska and Angel’s Landing, Zion National Park, Utah, I decided that I wanted to create two mini studies before starting the painting.
